According to his side of the story, the guy in question slapped him after they had an argument on set, and some of his boys who witnessed the assault descended on the guy. The extra, who is an up and coming singer himself, according to DJ Tee, smashed a bottle against hard metal above their heads, the bottle shattered and broken pieces cut him and DJ Tee, which was how he supposedly got the injury you see above  The injured guy, Alvin Osungade, is yet to tell his own side of the story.

32 year-old woman Mistie Rebecca Atkinson was sentenced to four years behind bars, after she was found in a California Motel room with her 16 year old son, who had recorded his mother giving him oral sex on his phone. It was also discovered that she had sent him nude pictures before then.  She hadn't had any contact with her son for 15 years because he was living with his father. The son was aware that the woman was his mother, but hasn’t met her.  She started contacting him via Facebook and sent him nude pictures and inappropriate messages, before she was sent to jail.

In a statement today signed by the church’s spokesperson, Mr. Ladi Ayodeji, his church said that the decision to break up was consensual. “The Pastor of our Church, the Household of God, Oregun, Lagos, Rev Chris Okotie announced his separation from Stephanie his wife of four years, at the end last Sunday service. The one-storey building Fela built and lived until his death on August 2, 1997, will be turned to a museum. The house, located at 18, Gbemisola Str., Ikeja, which is also the late Afro beat legend's final resting ground, will be called Kalakuta Museum and is scheduled for opening in October this year during the annual Felabrations event.  The Kalakuta Museum when completed  is expected to have an exhibition area, 5-room boutique hotel, a souvenir shop, a bar and stage and a roof-top restaurant among other things. The home is being turned to a museum according to those behind it to preserve the history of an illustrious son of Africa, promote tourism, acquire, display and preserve artifacts, documents and records of the man referenced as well as those of his contemporaries of African ancestry.

Students of the University of Lagos have expressed excitement over the interlocutory injunction restraining the Federal Government and the National Assembly from renaming their institution to Moshood Abiola University of Lagos. In a statement, the President of UNILAG Press Club, Tosin Adesile, said that the students were  satisfied with the court ruling that directed that the name of UNILAG should be retained pending the determination of the suit filed by the past students of the institution. He said, “The student population on receiving the court outcome went on jubilation and gave cheers to the judiciary. Stage one has been won and we students hope the case will favour us at the end of the day. Students will not in any way be happy if Nigerian factor is introduced in this case to favour President Goodluck Jonathan. This is a democratic nation and it is through such process we can have true democracy and thereby show good example to other countries in Africa.”

A Federal High Court in Ikeja has ordered the suspension of changing the name of the University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University, Lagos. Justice Steven Adah on Monday ordered that the status quo be maintained pending the hearing and determination of the two suits challenging the propriety of the name change by President Goodluck Jonathan on May 29. The judge thus directed that parties in the two suits must not take any action capable of jeopardising the outcome of the suits pending their hearing and final determination.

The Senate Committee on Investigation of Pension Administration can confidently say they are working.  The Senate committee uncovered idle cash worth   N 273.9 billion in seven major pension offices. The affected offices include the military, parastatals, the police and universities. Following the discovery of this gold mine, the committee will submit a 108-page report with recommendations to the Senate later today.

The presidential meeting between Goodluck Jonathan and Brazilian president, Dilma Rousseff bore tentative fruit as Rousseff agreed to visit Nigeria before the year runs out. In the meeting held on Wednesday June 20, Rousseff noted that as the 6th largest economy in the world (they recently overtook the United Kingdom to claim that title), Brazil has a depth of knowledge and understanding in areas such as engineering, construction, technology, public infrastructure, hydro-power generation and large-scale mechanised agriculture, which could benefit Nigeria greatly.

Titus Onuoha (pictured above) was found dead on the 14th of June 2012, on his apartment lawn, in Bel Air, Maryland. He was found lying face down on the ground at his apartment complex and nobody knows what happened or how it happened. The preliminary autopsy result shows trauma to the back of his head and neck. A Jos High Court on Thursday sentenced a 26-year-old man, Obinah John, to death by hanging for robbing one Dorothy Olaniyi of N1,705. The convict was also sentenced to death for robbing Olaniyi of two rolls of peak milk in sachets, valued at N400.

Six robbery suspects on Friday raided an Automated Teller machine (ATM) installed at a popular eatery along Afikpo Road in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, eastern Nigeria.
