  The president commissioned a bullet-proof vest production factory at the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) yesterday in Kaduna.  The factory will produce bullet-proof vests and other textile wares for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies in the country.

Anderson Cooper has publicly acknowledged for the first time that he is a gay, proud man. The 45 year old  CNN anchorman and talk show host revealed this in a letter to DailyBeast.com. Anderson Cooper wrote: "There continue to be far too many incidences of bullying of young people, as well as discrimination and violence against people of all ages, based on their sexual orientation, and I believe there is value in making clear where I stand. The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud. I have always been very open and honest about this part of my life with my friends, my family, and my colleagues. In a perfect world, I don't think it's anyone else's business, but I do think there is value in standing up and being counted. I’m not an activist, but I am a human being and I don't give that up by being a journalist."

The 21 year old footballer is expecting a child with his 24 year old ex-girlfriend Raffaella Fico who is a model. Raffaella revealed this week that she found out she was pregnant in May a month after they broke up. Raffaella and Mario dated for over a year but broke up in April this year because of the footballer's alleged affairs with other women. Raffaella herself once dated Footballer Christiano Ronaldo. Raffaella told reporters that Mario is excited about being a dad and they might reconcile for the sake of their child.

Nigerian pop star Wizkid  was announced winner of the Best International act (Africa) at the BET awards in New York on Sunday July 1, 2012 beating heavy weights Camp Mulla (Kenya), Ice Prince (Nigeria), Lira (South Africa) and Mokobe (Mali).   Last Thursday marked the 15 year anniversary of the infamous boxing match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield where Mike shockingly bit off a chunk of Evander's ear. The June 28, 1997 WBA heavyweight title fight held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mike Tweeted Evander about the milestone, and Evander poked fun at the situation. True champions!
